We only ever had two dogs with cropped ears, Gino. Our first Doberman had them, and then This guy below had to have them done. But that was because when we rescued him as a puppy his ears were rotting and we had to crop the dead tissue. At that time we decided to put them up. He turned out to be the most amazing dog ever. (although these two we have now...also rescued are turning into very special dogs as well). five of our seven Dobes were natural. This guy here was totally into music and traveled all over the country with me retrieving Mellotrons. He would never leave my side and I took him to my office every day for years. He loved the Mellotron strings and choirs and would run into the room to listen every time I played, usually passing my wife as she ran from the room, hands clamped over her ears.
