Yeah, Gary, I agree with you. I've seen Yes a LOT of times, in many different configurations since their 1st tour with Alan White, and they've consistently blown me away, brought tears to my eyes, had my jaw falling to the floor... all depending on what they were doing. IMHO, the best live incarnations were definitely anything including Wakeman, largely 'cause of his 'Trons, as well as his sheer virtuosity and magnitude! I also agree, Yes is just NOT Yes without Jon Anderson. Or Steve Howe. Hmmm... should I go on? HA! So what they were doing on Huckabee is completely inexplicable. Awful. Nauseating. Totally out of character and demeaning to the Yes legacy. They should be spanked and punished somehow. Benoir (?) whoosey-whats should go back to his boat-building; they should bring back Jon, and do what they do best. And for those of you who'd NOT go see them now, welllll... I'd think about it. I suspect you'd get a great show, but personally I'd wait for Jon to come back. I saw 'em with Rabin & Horn & Geoff Downs. To close your eyes, it was eerie how much Horn could sound like Jon. But open your eyes, and the wonderful "spirituality quotient" was just non-existant. He, Rabin & Downs were all too mechanical. No substitute in any case. (Although I have to suggest... YouTube “Tempis Fugit.” It's GOOD! But largely 'cause of Steve Howe's work.) Anyway, there's no explanation for this M.H. appearance, unless they were "test-driving" Benoir in front of an audience they knew didn't matter, & might not even know the difference. I suspect. And John W. #911 - YAY! There are some things ya just can't do, right? Good choice.... there MUST be an alternative! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!! May your rollers be a-pinchin', your tapes be a'spillin', and your 8-choirs be a'sinnnnngin' to the heavens! And remember... NO liquids on the Mellotron! Cheers!
