Hey Frank, I'm so sorry to read about Wolf! Sounds like a great character to have had as part of the family! And what "interesting" behavior you described! Undies and pantyhose... I just hope he wasn't... ahem... uhhh... following someone's example! Seriously, it's true, animals will eat the damnest things... I could go on, but it's admittedly a bit off-topic. I suppose to go back to ON-topic, in Rick's case, the shredded remains of his Former Mellotron library would give a whole new meaning to cats having tapeworms! Man, I can see that happening though! A word to the wise for those Mellotronists owned by cats... OR dogs, for that matter! Thanks for the Michael Iceberg links, too! Great stuff, and I look forward to hearing/seeing more! How would he have hooked up "wired-remote Chamberlins?" And the Feet/Height thing - absolutely, it's a great thing to have your Mellotron on wheels. I have my 'tron under a stand I built (at a height & width to just clear the Mellotron) to support a vintage Memory-Moog synth, which is far too clumsy to lift off if I need to get into the Mellotron. So the Mellotron sits on a small Ampeg amp dolly that fits between the feet perfectly (as opposed to fitting between the feet of my dolly!), which raises it a little, and makes it easy to pull straight out for maintenance, frame swaps & "This is how it works" tours. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, and are slowly reducing the look-alike "baby-bump!" Oooff!
