ELP used an M400 during the Trilogy tour but was played by Greg Lake for some special effects.  The Greg Lake website used to had a pic from that tour where you clearly see the white M400 mellotron but it was removed a long time ago.  The legend tells that the mellotron burned after 3-4 concerts and the idea of reusing it was dropped.”

Just happened across this pic on Emersons facebook page.

 

Any thoughts about the use of the Mellotron and Mini Moog pictured next to Greg? My first thought was Crimson then I looked at the Palmer logo on the kick. One of the comments states "I believe I read it was for doing Abaddon's Bolero live. Too many parts for Keith alone. I don't think they ever did it live beyond this time period.(1972).
