The battery is on the lower board on the right hand side of the unit.
That means that you need to remove some of the cables and unscrew the
top board (not all screws since it hinges back) and then completely remove
the lower board to get at the battery.

You really need to remove the original battery and measure the lead
spacing. The JP-8's I've seen use the coin type battery with 3 solder
tabs (through-hole). The JP-8 coin battery leads are a bit longer
than the standard coin batteries that Mouser has for sale.
