Subject: [AH] sync arpeggiators? midi routing?
hi gang, i have hit a brick wall with my analogs and could really use some
help with this.....
in addition to a sampler and sometimes a digital synth (yamaha EX5 these
days) my live setup with my band is based around a Prophet 600, Jupiter 6,
and in the future possibly a JP8. i am also building a MOTM modular that i
may bring with me on gigs sometimes. i am currently using the on-board
rotary arpeggiator controls of these analog synths to time my arpeggios in
time with the beat of the songs we do. my question is, how do i get to the
next level of ∗tapping∗ the tempo i want and having the arpeggiators sync to
it?
ALSO, this may be related, i would like to be able to control any one of my
synths from another but have not found a practical, easy-to-use midi routing
box that will allow me to do this. i am currently trying to make a Digital
Music Technologies MX28 work and while it has the physical/switch interface
(rather than programmable/digital) that i am looking for, its merging/etc
aspects are cryptic to me.
is there something (Encore Expressionist?? Philip Rees??) that would allow
me accomplish both of my tasks (syncing and midi routing)?
much appreciate your responses,
