Subject: [AH] JP-8 advice please

hello:
i'm considering paying what i think is a lot of money ($1300) for an " as is

" jupiter-8. i spent a few hours with it yesterday and as far as i can tell
it is in pretty good shape. i'm no expert though, so i'm looking for some
advice as to what to beware of. cosmetically, it was in very good shape.
functionally, there were three preset switches that were intermittent,
meaning you had to hit them a few times to get them to work. also, the
bender
was slightly funky when moving it to the far left. other than that it seemed

to play fine. it stayed in tune, the arpeggiator worked fine, and it of
course sounded great. anything else i should look out for in terms of a
synth
about to go bad? are these preset buttons easily replaced? how about the
bender? are these expensive repairs? am i an idiot for considering paying
this much for a synth that isn't 100% functional? oh, and by the way it is
the model with dcb. i'd would appreciate any advice and opinions you might
have.
please reply privately as i'm on the digest. thanks in advance.

regards,
