My mom owned a Lowrey, that's the board I learned to play on. In
addition to the "repeat percussion" feature (square wave modulated
tremelo) it also had a pitch bender ("Hawaiian guitar" effect) and a
wah-wah built in. Both the bender and wah were activated by toe levers
at the top of the volume pedal.
You can hear the bender in use on most Soft Machine albums, Mike
Ratledge used a Lowrey rather than a Hammond.
