I just played with the lovely AN200 and want
to share even more happiness and some funny thought.
This is just my humble opinion that to my ears:
AN1x: Sounds Phatter, more Vintage Sounding.
AN200: Sounds a bit thinner (compared to AN1x), more Modern sounding.
(May be this is due to the revoiced and retweaked AN1x engine)
This is Perfect for me! Because I'm looking for a synth that's
able to make thin sounds with modern character. So far there's
2 synths in my mind: the Virus and MS2000, but I don't really
like both (too robotic for me). But the AN200 really fill this!
Also one more funny thing, this is the "cute" sounds that
I want from the Micro Modular. But when I get the big
brother (Mod Key), I realize that something is missing.
The Nord Modular is sounds very great and capable of doing
thin sounds, but it's a bit too harsh sounding which is lovely.
But a bit different from my expectation from wanting a more
liquid sounding synth. With the AN200, I really feel like
I get the sound character that I'm expect from the Micro Modular!
With more real time control and all the bag of extra..
Thank you Yamaha, wish you do more surprise with cheap and cheerful
puppies like this..
Regards,
Bill
