Subject: knob issues

hey all. new member here, 1rst post. about 4 days of lurking and
going back as far as possible. great stuff.
1rst off: i love my synth. the sound is truly great, the action is
great, and the editing is nicely laid out (haven't had too much time
yet and have not even tried the editor or all your patches yet, but
will get to it as soon as possible.) (can't wait to hear what you
guys have come up with.
anyways, the only downside for me is the knobs. they feel cheap. i
have only laid hands on mine which i got second hand so i might
have a bad unit, but there is a little give when turning the knobs.
you feel a space between twists and actual value change. this makes
live performance tricky as it's not as accutely responsive as i
would like. the only other synth i have had (not counting
workstations or pianos) is the korg z1 and the knobs were way
better, of course more expensive. the sound i like much more on the
an1x.
now the question. if this is standard on an1x ( i understand we are
getting a lot of bang for the buck) is it a knob issue (easy to
replace i guess) or the actual encoder rod? has anybody here
corrected this?
thanks for any help.
