It sounds more like you have some loose connection causing the ribbon
to always interfere with your whole setup. Check out the the yahoo
webpage of this group for some guides about screwing through your an1x.

Pure bashing on some technicality... It really sounds like you have a
faulty ribben, because mine doesn't have glitches at all (i'm actually
having trouble assigning it to my patches, but i'm not that far
through the manual yet :P )

It's actually a digital synth....... Virtual Analog. Some nasty DSP's
and other things pretending it to be a real analog synth. Doing an
amazing job at that. (I.e., all analog circuits are emulated through
dsp's and other processors)

Try to fix it ^_^

True that!
Hope to have helped. Haven't unscrewed my AN1x yet, but on the group
pages someone did. He had some loose knobs and faulty ribbon
controller... but some new screws and plugging the ribbon ribbons back
in helped solve those problems.
Really, it just sounds like a technical malfunction. Because the ribbon
controller is just like the pitchbender, modwheel or one of the turn
knobs. It's there to do some mindbending sound tweaking, not to disrupt
the usage of the board (at least not intentionally).
Cheers!
