Subject: Re: [AN1x] Re: worth Update OS 1.03 for AN200

I use soundtower's editor on my extreme, they just updated the editor. The big update is in how it now looks like 100% of the sequencer in the extreme is now accessible from the PC. I don't think I will ever use the an200, dx200 and maybe the rm1x other than a separate feed to something standalone, ever...

There is so much that I see using the editor on the extreme, just isn't funny. Too bad I don't have something like that for the AN200 and DX200.

Still both boxes can't be beat for playing. The extreme isn't a hands on friendly item like these two are. I have to use the editor myself to get into the multi-layer menus. Just not with it, with all the synths I have and use to remember each menu system. :-(

I spent a few hours with it over the weekend just toying around with the new update. Was very mind expanding.

As far as i know, the OS upgrade doesn't deal with the first note bug with the patterns. But having said that, i don't use the AN200
as a groovebox. It's just not as comprehensive as, say, the MC 303.
It is, however, a rather well equipped sound module that really benefits from tweaking with the editor.

I have done the upgrade though initially i had problems with it and thought i had corrupted the OS. My advice to anyone
thinking of doing this, is to leave it running even when it appears to have stopped. Especially at the beginning of the download when it
seems to stop for quite a while.Give it a minute or so and it will start up again.

As for the difference, i'm not entirely sure it changes much though i can't be sure because after i upgraded it, i installed a new
soundcard in my pc and it sounds better! But is it the OS upgrade or the new card??
