I am on PC, no AN1x either... I been tempted many times to get.. I run all midi via midiman 8x8, 2x2 or direct usb (newer synths and midi controller are direct usb in) work fine for me. So I am using the xglite program that came with it, updated of course. It handles both the an and the dx units well.
I also just added a RM1X to that mix. So there is a A-Frame rack holding, AN200, DX200, Zoom RT323 and a RM1X now. The sequencer rack. ;-) 3 other hardware sequencers are also found in the midi routing, a5000, s-80 and the triton extreme. Software, in most cases I am using Sonar but I do have a lot of other creatures like Project 5 and many synthedit one shot or single riff sequencers to use at will as needed... some just work effects. I decided to go this way instead of grafting more arms and hands on.
There are times when I like to hear the whole thing live at one time so I can tinker with each. Doing the layer thing, one at a time is cool too but there are times when I just want to focus on the whole thing at once. make much noise I do.... ;-)

<snip>I checked out the DX200 list tonight and found there is a recent
thread on this very subject - seems to be specific to the AN/DX
boxes, they have not arrived at a solution other than to call/email
YCA. Not a bad idea, IMO.

I can run AN Expert Editor under Classic in Panther but it doesn't
behave well with my AN1x due to the SysEx ID. Are you running that
plug-in editor under XGWorks or a stand alone editor - AN1xEdit? Does
your AN200 behave similar to his?<snip>
