NOT REAL! A little tear just dripped on my keyboard.
You know, leaving out the "motorized controls" it could be made for under $5k.
The proper construction would be like the ARP style, with the panel vertical to
the keys. The Moog Voyager comes a bit close, and exceeds this guys ideas in
design by having the 3rd VCO. A lot can be done with that third oscillator.
Again, the Poly Evolver is getting close to something really creative in design
by having the VS style digital oscillator section. A friend of mine just got a
Roland Fantom... it's really tempting for me to ditch my 01/W rompler and A3000
sampler to have all of that horsepower in one keyboard. But there's no real
innovation in the synth engine.
Worst thing I find myself dealing with is that my old gear is large and heavy.
