I shy away from the last part, isn't worth it... not in the lesser dollar case anyway... ;-)
I have been in your shoes... it wasn't easy for me either... but live and learn...
I think it might be the encoder as you said you had to deal with it with pressure... check that area...
if you get the manual, I would be interested to know the contents myself..
good luck

Subject: [AN1x] Re: AN200 Restarts itself....
I did check everything obvious. I've tried the unit without anything
hooked up to it, no difference. I'll try running it sans-synth card
and see if that has an effect. I've got an e-mail into yamaha
service, I'll see if they can send me a svc manual. Though I hate the
idea of troubleshooting and replacing tiny surface-mount
components... I just bought this thing, and the PO refuses to return
my emails.
I thought I'd be better off buying locally, but I guess it's best to
stick to ebay where you at least have feedback to check a seller's
integrity. I just wish I'd have gotten this guy's contact info so I
could trek out to his house for an up-close and personal chat... (and
perhaps a little violence!)
