Two questions for Everybody:

1) If you're using a 'D'igital 'A'udio 'W'orkstation (ie computer multi-track hard disk recorder) for composing tracks, do you tend to record in mono? My thoughts are that with exception of 'pan', it's only the effects such as reverb, and chorus that give a 'stereo' effect. In which case this can be performed in the DAW with mono tracks - saving power and space over stereo recordings. Also, most mixers feature mostly mono inputs making it hard to accurately track the levels of EQ etc. of stereo sources. It seems that dealing with a mono source is a lot easier to work with???

2) What level do you normally set the output volume on your AN1x? I've always set it on full and hoped the headroom was sufficient enough not to clip. I've noticed that on some patches I'm actually getting extra (unwanted) distortion. Maybe I should re-save the patch with a lower volume-parameter setting so that it doesn't clip from the main volume. What do you people think about volume settings on musical instruments? Maybe the pre-amps on my AN1x are slowly deteriorating.
