As you've gathered from the manual, the Knobs on the AN1x function in
two manners 1) Simply twist a Knob to increase or decrease the
current value in larger amounts and 2) Push and twist a Knob to make
fine adjustments, i.e., add or subtract 10-12 from the value of the
selected parameter.

Depends on your dexterity and how well the push & twist rotary
encoders on your AN1x have aged ;-) I've had my AN1x for six or so
years now (original owner) and the Knobs still exhibit a reasonable
tactile feel. However, from time to time a value will 'jump'
erraticaly when disengaging from a fine adjustment using the push &
twist desing.

Can't honestly say that I've ever noticed. If you're after filter
sweep with less zipper noise than a manual sweep, I suggest you use a
slow LFO setting with a LFO waveform. Otherwise, experiment with the
FreeEG.

You should download the JP8000 emulations Voices from Files section
here at Yahoo! Groups and see if they meet your expectations:
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/filesYou'll find this Voice bank in the Yamaha Archive file. It was
supplied by Yamaha to exhibit how favorably they felt the AN1x
matched up with the JP8K. You can load these into your AN200 for
comparison.

I'm going to refer you to the FAQ so you can read up on the
differences between the AN1x vs. PLG150-AN/AN200 in regards to cross
modulation:
