Couple more thoughts:
1) the LFO has a great selection of waveforms on the AN1x, but it
does not sync to MIDI Clock so if you're accustomed to that bit of
automation be prepared to set the rate by hand. The FreeEG makes up
for this 'limiation' for the most part as it DOES sync to MIDI Clock.
2) There is subtle, but noticeable stepping in the Filter when swept
over a large range using the manual control - it is less noticeable
when using a LFO to perform a sweep. The Pro52 (particularly the
Pro53) are much better in this regard. You'll find the
archictectures remarkably similar between Pro52/53 and AN1x as they
are both modelled after the Sequential Circuits Prophe 5.
