I'd stick with the AN1x as a controller over the CS6x. My impression of the CS6x - from
what I've read posted to this list- is he user interface on the CS6x is rather 'fiddly.' He
probably wants something a little easier to get up & running with. That said - I think the
CS6x sounds REAL nice and can be had for around $450-550.
I've been satisfeid with the AN1x as a controller to date, but I don't particuarly have a
problem witht the touch although the AT is very sensitive (too sensitive for most folks.)
The Arp/Seq is fussy to record with, but the Assign Knobs are useful - and it accepts
multipe pedals too, along with the Ribbon Controller, Pitch and Mod Wheels.
I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the recent keyboard controllers from M-Audio -
the M-Audio Keystation 61es Keyboard in particular. I would suggest you check out their
web site and get a bit more specific as to what you want in a keyboard controller because
they make a size and model for just about all tastes, i.e., do you need a 'just' a controller
or do you need a controller/audio interface combo. Are assignable knobs & sliders
important to you or is the feel of the keyboard more important? Would you prefer a
portable, i.e., fits in a backpack, 49 note controller or a 61 or 88 note contoller? Just food
for thought...
