it was pointed out to me a while back that midi-ox (midiox.com) can be set to filter too..

There's no way to avoid Program Changes being sent by the AN1x. But most
sequencing software packages have many filtering options that can be
applied, including Program Changes, etc.... I'm not familiar with Protools
but I'm sure it can do that.
Midi filtering capabilities can also be found in certain midi patch bays,
handy for live gigs without a computer.
