Hi! I'm italian and my english is very poor, but...
I use the An1X with the Nord Electro 2 Rack with a Yamaha P80 and a Roland XP80! I use
also a EMU Vintage Pro (and a Roland VM3100PRO as submixer!). I made by myself special
wooden shelfs to adjust a two tier quiklok keyboards stand to have 3 keyboards very near
each other (P80-XP80-AN1X). Well. I play (with my band!) funky, soul, rock and acid jazz
too, and for me this is my definitive rig! Note that I use 90% Electro (both for EP and
Organ) and An1x (lead sounds for solo), the XP80 almost only as master keyboard (except
for some brass... that I hate!), the P80 for the acoustic piano and as Master for the
Electro's pianos, the EMU for Dyno and some synth.
I totally agree with you, I am a keyboardist and I want to use genuine keyboard
instruments (we are looking for a very good mini brass section, but it's not easy...!) also if I
need almost one hour to prepare my setup in the stage! I like it! I think we are very lucky
not to carry by ourself real hammond or rhodes or clavinet or piano...
However, about the Nord, the only limit is that it's monotimbrical, so you can only play
organs OR pianos, and it's very hard to play other creepy rolands EPs or organs when you
have tested the Nord (or a VK series, I have to be honest!). This is why I use also the EMU
Vintage Pro, that have very beautiful Dyno Rhodes (the Nord really miss it!), very powerfull
synth patches and tollerable organs for substitutions... but with the An1x, the Electro is a
very killer couple!
Ciao ciao
