Subject: Morphing from "Pretending" to "Performing"

Hi!
First some background to the question I will ask later.
I've grown tired of being the chameleon of the band, playing brass,
strings, rythm instruments and harmonica on the keyboard.
So I sold my Ensoniq TS-10 digital workstation and bought an Nord
electro to just play genuine keyboard parts, Hammond, Rhodes,Clavinet,
CP-70 etc.
It felt really great to be focusing on the music performance instead of
occupying my small brain with thinking about what the patch number of
the next sound used for the next bar.
At first the band members was disturbed by the new sound the rig
delivered but now they've stopped complaining. :-)
But still some of the songs needed some additional synth brass, bell
sounds, strings etc. so I bought a JV-1010 for "bread&butter" sounds.
And now it's sort of back to square one, with me pretending to be
something else than a keyboardist.
So now I've started to think about replacing the JV1010 with an AN1x
instead to fill the parts that the Electro cannot handle.
The AN1x IS a genuine keyboard instrument, not pretending to be
something else than a Synthesizer.
The question is, will a AN1x, coupled with an Electro be enough to play
pop/rock/soul music from the 70's until today?
I understand that the songs must be rearranged and that they will not be
"truthfully reproduced" but I want to prioritize the joy of playing
instead of being a slave of the sounds...
Does anyone understand my situation and the desired path I want to go?
From being a "Pretending" artist I want to become a "Performing" artist
and thus bringing out the true joy of music.
Thanks for listening!
Regards, Magnus
