Ed's idea is a good one. Perhaps something as simple as an asterick
before your favorite patch. I spent some time tweaking some patches
and I've been meaning to update my patches on the list. Unfortunately
I discovered a whole patch of freeware VST recording stuff so have
been in a time warp down in the basement. Once I recover, I will
update my patches and mark my favorites.
