EXACTLY!!! :D
Where do people think all the drum sounds come from that are in ROMplers/Samplers - off sample CD's???
I can assure you that a large percentage of them are ∗not∗ recordings of 'real' accoustic drum kits! Particularly those 'kicks'. Rather they are synthesised with electronic gear one by one (the AN1x is perfectly up to the task), ready for sampling.
If you check my original post/reply on this topic you'll see that I suggested using the AN1x as a tool ("screw-driver" if you're clever enough) for creating percussive sounds, although to get use of them, and not totally dedicate your AN1x for one or two sounds when it could be doing something else, one would be better sampling the final result.
Sample CD's are available - but there is a real art to sound-design.
Cheers,
Phil :)
...who still gets told occassionally that techno
comes from DJ's playing records <hehe.. :D >

I remember back in the mid-80s when my friends an I were all on our 1st
synths: DX7's, DW8000's and K3's. We'd each try to program the ultimate
"Miami Vice" synth drum intro ala Jan Hammer ;-) ha haha

Oh, and don't forget - lower the filter cutoff, raise the depth amount
and crank the Resonance for those way spacey type percussion sounds ;-)
Try routing velocity to the cutoff rate for even more fun...

Jon
