$499
I signed up as a developer.
There are free items for it. From full synth with code to samples and things others has built for it. I will be checking out the code closely then rolling my own. I expect it to save me thousands.

I don't know about the freeware skins taken off. The $499 is, from what I read from Sound Art group post, a close out for the US stock. After that, it's EU. So the price will go up. I figure if I do create something, I would sell it myself. You still need the unit. $499 isn't that bad for what it can do.

I expect to tailor my own sounds as well as mimic some synths I would have otherwise used software for. I also have the MMV(Arturia Moog software) heading my way. Next year, after I learn the MOOG software, I might spring for the Voyager.

Some of the bands I run sound for may have me set them up one if they like what I do with it. I already saw a guitar effects unit built around the Chameleon. Right now, I am just thinking about getting it, setting it up, put the synth software in and start using it.

There is a lot of new and cool stuff coming out for the next few months.

This all started when I was looking for something to complement my MS2000. A long and strange trip it has been.

Or you can buy the software already done for you to accomplish you bidding. Since I do a little programming, I plan on using it to mimic many different synths and effects.

It's a cool device, but rather pricey, considering that you also need software to go with it. ($1,000US, unless you're a developer, which is still $775 or so.) I wonder if the prices will ever come down? I also wonder if the concept of freeware skins will ever really happen?
