Hi,

It sounds like you have the wrong MIDI port selected in Setup. In addition to MIDI channel, most sequencers and other musical programs allow you to select the MIDI port, and the internal synthesizer is usually considered a "MIDI port" to the computer. Check the setup to see if the real MIDI adapter is selected for both input and output.
