As far as I can see:
1) Probably arbitary units (note that 32 is half of 64, a convenient
fraction for 8 bit systems, and pan is also +/- 32)
2) Yes
3) I would imagine that the five (in mono) or 2 (in poly) are spread
equally between 0 and the value that detune is set to.
