You're comparing Apple and Oranges. The EXP boards sound excellent and are a
terrific addition to an ASR-X - if you can find an Urban Dance board these days,
they've become scarce and costly. It's best suited to hip hop more than electronica/
dance. Please check my web site ASRXCITE at

The AN1x is a excellent virtual analog synth which serves well in just about any genre
requiring analog emulation. You'll find many users on this list apply the AN1x to
progressive and and pop rock as they do dance/electronica.

Either combination will work wonders, IMO. Please refer to the recent thread on asrx-
list where we discussed the A4000 v. ASR-X. You might find the archives of this list to
be of help too - there are a couple A3000 users here.
