Yep, that's what I use as well. The only problem with the midiman interfaces is that you can't use them as through-boxes unless they are hooked up to a computer. on the 8x8 for example, you can't disconnect it from your computer, take it to a gig and use it as a simple 8x8 midi through-box even though it has a little "USB/through" button on it that works perfectly when hooked up to a PC. On the 2x2 this really isn't a problem since you only have two devices, but I thought I'd bring it up anyways since it's the one thing people don't like about midiman.
Has anyone ever gotten the serial host interface on the CS6x to work? I bought the cable but have been unable to get it working under 2000 or XP.

Hi Jimmy,
I use a pair of the Midiman 2x2 USBs (the lime green ones), and they have worked very well. I'm sure there are other options -- and maybe even some 2x2 horror stories -- but they have served me very well. You can even gang up to four of them on the same computer for an 8x8! Unfortunately, they are $20-30 more than the Yamaha you're talking about. Perhaps the Midiman 1x1 (~$35-40) would be a good candidate. OTOH, everything I've ever owned by Yamaha has been good quality, so I really can't say that the Yamaha isn't the way to go.
