Yes, it's still much better than any free software I've ever received with a musical product, and better than the shareware editor, QControl, that I use with my Alesis QSR -- which I PAID for. Part of the problem lies in the fact that the AN1x doesn't have a "bulk dump" MIDI command, so either you have to initiate one manually from the synth (as I do to save files in Cakewalk), or you have to ask for each preset one at a time (as I believe AN1x does). This means that there is always a possible sync problem during the "Give me preset #1 ... Here's #1 ... Give me #2 ..." dialog. If either side loses track, it will stop and wait, which causes the other side to also stop and wait. That's why I say that it might not actually be AN1xEdit's fault -- but it can be frustrating. I hope you don't see the same problem.
