How about the Event ezBus? It has a lot of inputs, spdif, optical
and usb (so you don't even need a soundcard, just USB!) (24-
bit/96kHz) It has a lot of routing flexibility. They cost $600, only
$50 more than a 14 channel Mackie and I think they are much more
suited to PC based musicians. Oh yeah, you can use it as a midi
control surface as well!
