I have a further question along these lines. I'm considering upgrading
my main music PC and getting seperate Audio & MIDI cards. The problem
is, since I really find An1xEdit a really valuable tool, I want to stay
away from USB midi ports. But when I search on Google for PCI MIDI cards
I get very few results. I really don't want another Creative Labs card.
Is there anyone out there still making PCI MIDI cards or is there a list
of known workable USB cards? I'm using a SBLive with Win98SE now and
have only had a few crashes with AN1xEdit. Have others generally had
luck with XP and USB MIDI?

One or two patches get sent to the port, then nothing more, and I have to close down the application manually. I believe that it's a driver issue, and I'm even willing to buy that it's really the drivers' fault -- but it seems to only happen with AN1xEdit. Everything else I use is fine -- Cakewalk, Cubase, Media Player. Are you accessing the MIDI driver in a unique way, compared to other music programs?
