Subject: fm sync pitch and modwheel mayhem

Here's some things to try.

Take patch # 40 Acid (I like the sequence for that patch).Layer it
Dual and Poly.

Use the rotary speaker effect-we want motion.

Set Comm 1 for delay return and set it for direct Z ribbon controller
Set Comm 2 for reverb return direct X ribbon controller.
Set the VCA volume to X ribbon controller and -30 (this thing will
get real loud otherwise).

Set the delay to tempo delay and try some crazy rhythm-I like 3/32nds
Turn the feedback up to the 90s

Scene 1
In the matrix, set the following to modwheel control-
PEG Delay
Peg Depth
Sync Pitch
Sync Pitch Depth
Osc 1 Pmod dp
Osc 2 PmodDp
FM depth

Set the amount somewhere between 23-30. Any higher and you're in dog
whistle frequency.

Set VCA Sustain and VCA release to Modwheel direct.
You have to fiddle with the VCA release until you get a good sound. I
like it around 65.

Set the Algorithm to Sync+FMmst
Set Sync Pmod Sw to slave

Do the same for scene 2 but of course with the amount set to -23--30
We want true sea sickness.

For sync pitch source and fm source use LFO 1. Set LFO 1 to a slow
speed (10) with a square wave.Check out the random LFO-I didn't like
it. Not rhythmic enough.

Set one scene portamento at 45, the other 55-we have polyphonic
portamento so we're going to use it gosh darn it.

Set the tempo of the sequencer way down to 40.

You get a real slow ginky pattern until you push down on the ribbon
controller. Then it's instant Pink Floyd. Push up the mod wheel while
kicking up the reverb with the ribbon controller. All these strange
sounds coming floating out-very psychedelic.

I have no idea how you would use this patch in a musical composition.
