WOAH!! Shouldn't that be 95% ∗PC∗ users?- There are an large amout of Linux
users as well-However, I do totally agree with you- I just think that- in my
experience with porting over software, I've rarely come across that, done
well. I think my only experience of good porting would be Outlook Express and
Reason- which are both very stable (Mac G3 here)
I just got Reaktor- which incidently, for the Mac is as buggy as hell- which
is not good after I paid so much money for it. The architecture of both the
PC and Mac are different- I think that's why (I guess) Emagic had to
completely re-write the engine for PC Logic (Yes it is a bit odd that they go
to those great lengths and then this takeover happens- confused?- so am I). I
think where the problem lies, is that- (because of the huge expense
involved)- PC software designers rarely rewrite the soft for Mac- and the Mac
is forced to behave like a PC- which is fine for the developers, because they
now have Mac versions of their software- but it is us who lose out, because
the development is forever ongoing.
It's a crying shame that BeOS bit the dust- an OS designed for Mac and then
redesigned for PC. But (like Linux) it could be used- with amazing speed- on
pre-G3 PPC Macs and all Intel PC's. - Perhaps Steinberg should buy up BeOS
and get it functioning again- then both parties would be happy?!
