Subject: preset patches

Personally, it really depends on the mix.

If I have a sound out there in a pretty sparse mix....I may leave it as the
"phat" preset. But when there is other stuff going on I feel I almost always
have to adjust at least EQ on it...often also some of the other parameters
because some of them make th esound practically disappear in the mix at
times.

I have been toying with how also to do both...I mean say you have a nice
thick, phat sound you start off and you got synth and a little acoustic
guitar...then comes bass, etc...and it builds...I am thinking about
recording the same sounds but with two different patches...or scenes
maybe...

Scenes might be just the thing, is it possible to morph from one to the
other as other instruments come in so you feel and hear the sound as
"continuous" and yet it sits well in the mix...
