Yes I have heard of this before- infact about 5 years ago, there was a second
hand AN in a local music shop- I didn't go for it because of this same
problem! (and they were still trying to flog it for £500!!!!).
Best bet is to give Yamaha a call- sounds like it needs a service. (do you
know its history?- I don't think there is such a thing as a 'new' AN1x
nowadays.)
