Subject: Hard Disk Crash ? HELP !

Hello dear an1x family.

First, my thanks for all replies to the latest FM topic.
I think now, that in order to get some FM sound
on the AN1x, one must first set some depth to it.
Otherwise, changing algorythms won't do much.

Now: yersterday night my PC shutdown just fine as ever.
This morning I power it on, and the scandisk stuff showed me
tons of writting errors on my C disk!
I managed to make a good backup to another disk,
but when i tried to complete format C: partition,
the format commmand told me I couldn't because Track 0
was wrong and the disk was useless. DAMN!

Somehow I made a format /q and everything was erased fine.
The scandisk surface test showed only one cluster as wrong.
That cluster is the second in the row.
Then I managed to install Windows98.

And now the problem is booting!
When I start the PC, just after it shows the WIN98 SKY picture,
it's A LOT slower than usual and the hard disk sounds like separate
tic tic tic, instead of the normal faster trrrrr....
Once inside, the machine works fine, but i'm worried about the boot.

What do you think ? Will this stuff get worse ?
You know any solution for this hard disk thingie ?

Please message me privately.

THANKS A LOT,

Jaun
