Ever heard of smilies? :)
Seriously: you've got to be careful with e-mail. You only have your words,
which leaves out 90% of what communication is about (60% body language, 30%
intonation, 10% content). It may be apparent to you, but perhaps not for
someone from a different cultural background, different proficiency with
English, etcetera. That's why they invented smilies. Cave canem.
