This is a known issue and has been discussed at length: With
the exception of the Emagic AMT8 MIDI Interface, AN1xEdit will
NOT receive SysEx dumps from the AN1x via USB MIDI
Interfaces on the MacOS. Many users have experienced this.
There is a seperate issue, a minor bug in AN1xEdit, where
standard (serial port) MIDI Interfaces on the Mac can exhibit
similar behavior but this can easily be corrected by following this
procedure:

I've never experienced this. Do you mean the voice data
uploaded from AN1xEdit does not overwrite the current selected
voice in your AN1x? How unusual?! Can you provide some
additional detail: which sound bank of voices are you working
with and have you tried to reinitialize your AN1x to the factory
settings and retry?

As an alternative to using AN1xEdit as an Editor/Librarian, you
could program your sounds from the AN1x front panel and use
the Bulk Dump command (under UTILITY/SETUP) to dump the
SysEx data into your software MIDI sequencer - then save the
sequence as standard MIDI file (.mid) which can be shared
cross platform with any other AN1x user. I've used this method
with success on my Mac along with a USB MIDI Interface so I'm
confident it would work for you.
Just remember to set a slower tempo (< 100bpm) in your
sequence so the AN1x dump data (which is notoriously large)
makes is across. The Bulk Dump command permits you to
choose from individual voices, groups of 64 or all voices - along
with Pattern data or System data.
