A CS6x or A3K type display would be great by me! I'd like the Rotary
Knob to be replaced with a column of individual buttons (like the A3K) too.
Flash ROM is a 'flash in the pan' ha ha - I bought my ASR-X Pro instead
of an original ASR-X ∗partially∗ because of the inferred promise of
future OS updates. Whether it's an EEPROM or Flash update you're still
at the mercy of the manufacturer ∗sigh∗ Still no OS update or bug fixes
for the ASR-X Pro. I hear the SCSI on the new yammie samplers is the
same as the SU700 and A3K (not good.) Why didn't Yamaha take advantage
of the opportunity to reengineer the SCSI bus? No Flash Rom update is
going to fix ∗that one∗!
I think the 'up & coming' companies are making wiser use of Flash Rom
type features than the mainstays.
