From your description it sounds like your AMT8 is receiving a
program change command and as a result is inc/dec through it's
internal patches. Does this happen ONLY when performing an
edit from within AN1xEdit or are you using a second hardware
controller by chance? Perhaps a MIDI loop is occuring - I had a
MIDI loop result in all kinds of havoc in my MIDI set-up recently.

At present I use an Opcode Studio 128x (similar to an AMT8) and
I typically leave program one on the 128x set to a null
configuration for use with my sequencing environment and other
MIDI apps. Is your AMT8 by chance defaulting to a program with
some custom MIDI mapping for stand alone use? I use a few
programs on the 128x to route the AN1x (my controller keyboard)
to other hardware devices for stand alone use, i.e., no computer
turned on. Perhaps you do the same with the AMT8?

Just some ideas....I think you should check out the Sound Diver
list as Gary suggested. That's probably your best shot :-)
