Well, it is sort of implied from the message that the easy editors CAN
retrieve the data, so it is a question of finding out what the 'easy
editor' is, I think it is the plugin in Xg-works, which I have never
used, which will be a pain to have to setup just to get the facility,
but it will be worth it if it works.
I am not sure, but I think Xg-works can handle .syx, but if not Midi-Ox
will allow you to load and send .Syx files to a specified output port.
