studio, can I have some advice please.
Hello All, My friend Ralph has just come into some money, He wants to
buy a Laptop to produce Audio with. He has around £2000 UKP to spend on
it, So, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a few
points.
1. He lives in the UK, So, can anyone recommend 'Red submarine', as they
appear to make some good laptops for audio? Or has anyone had any bad
experiences with this shop?
2. If he goes for a 'normal' off the peg Laptop from the High Street,
What sort of things should he look out for? Is there anything in
particular that he should avoid like the plague?
3. What sort of processor should he use in one? Intel PIII, PIV or AMD
Athlon?
4. What should he use to produce the Sound? PCMCIA card? USB Box or
Firewire/MLan? He needs multiple outs on whatever he buys to feed into
his 01v.
5. This one may be daft, but I have never seen anything about Graphics
for Laptops, So what is the consideration here?
Please reply direct to me and not the list if you can help it, I don't
want to clutter the lists :-)
Thanks in advance.
See ya,
Reggie
