For people who haven´t checked the website yet...Vermona used to be
the brandname of an old east-german company who built synthesizers
during the cold war. After the wall came down, people who used to
work for that "Kombinat", founded the new company hdbaudio, which
were doing some things for "Touched by Sound" like e.g. the long
announced Mephisto (i guess the M.A.R.R.S. is a side product out of
the Mephisto). Last year they bought the rights back for the name
Vermona and already did two really nice gadgets, an analogue
filterbank and an analogue phaserbank. Definately worth to check out.
I am looking forward to the MARRS, since it´s going to be the first
affordable real analogue synth (ok the second...the MB33 from MAM
doesn´t count...;) out of Germany.
Hopefully they will also finish the "Mephisto" (guess they will
choose another name) also in a couple of months.
