Hi Peter,
First of all forget about the ROM version of the AN1x....it never had any
major problems in the firmware (the only known problem related to audible
clicks ....which required a hardware mod).
Regarding An1xEdit...the latest version is V1.1 (download it from my web
site ....URL below).
If you are getting "sysex error" messages from the keyboard, then it
probably means that your MIDI interface is losing data (i.e. cannot manage
the large sysex bulks required).
Also have you checked whether normal edit messages from An1xEdit reach the
synth OK? If they do, but bulks don't....then its almost certainly a problem
in your MIDI interface.
You don't say what your MIDI interface is.....but if its some form of
SoundBlaster with joystick port arrangement, then I would advise you get a
dedicated interface.
