The Edge control can also give triangle-like sounds, when used with a 50%
pulse wave. From a technical point of view, a triangle and a square wave
are similar, but the triangle has less high frequency content:
Square = f1 + 1/3 ∗ f3 + 1/5 ∗ f5 + 1/7 ∗ f7 + ...
Triangle = f1 + 1/9 ∗ f3 + 1/25 ∗ f5 + 1/49 ∗ f7 + ...
Turning the Edge to 0 makes a sine wave; turning it to 20-50 makes a
triangle-like wave.
