There is no way to import a standard MIDI file into AN1xEdit or the AN1x
itself. The Step Sequencer on the AN1x is intended to emulate the old,
pre-MIDI control voltage sequencer's used during the 1970's and early
1980's. It's a lot of fun to use the AN1x Seq and you can make some
creative stuff (especially with the Free EG in sync) but it is not a
polyphonic, multi-channel sequencer such as Cakewalk. AN1xEdit makes
editing Seq a lot easier than doing it from the front panel of the AN1x.
I think Yamaha took the 'emulation' thing too far ;-) ha ha just
kidding. They made it about as simple as they could, I suppose.
