As you have 2 synths in your setup, and I do believe the AWE64 Gold has just one MIDI in/out (16 channels)? There are 2 things you can do: either use the "THRU" port of your AN1X to hook up your DJX or buy a dedicated midi interface with at least 2 MIDI out. I don't use the THRU option on any of mye synths, altough it should work, but I think you have to share those 16 MIDI channels among the two. That shouldn't be any trouble as you only need 1 (2?) channel(s) for AN1X's mono-/"bi"-trimability.
I don't know how the THRU option really works with Cubase as I use Cakewalk myself, but there are plenty of CB users here, so I'm sure they'll help you out in a more detailed manner. But you should be able to everything you want with your setup using just some cables. And whatever people say about the DJX: It really packs some potential as soon as you hook it up with MIDI (I use it in almost every song still). Then you can control every effect and settings from within your sequencer! Expect things to be a little tricky in the beginning. God knows I stayed up many nights to understand how my sequencer and gear talked to each other. And I still haven't got a clue about half of it, but I am able to make the music that I want :-)

I have a question about connecting two MIDI pieces to my PC.
I use a Yamaha AN1x and a Yamaha DJX (PSR-D1). My soundcard is a Creative

Now my question is : How do I connect those two to my PC and how do I
control them both in my sequencer (Cubase 5.0 - Windows). Do I need a
special device for this or just a MIDI cable? And how do I make the
connections?
