Subject: Re: [AN1x-list] AN1x editor question

I have a similar problem I have a AWE64 and I can't get the editor working
with it at all! I've tried everything except re-installing Win 98 Which
could be the problem as it crashes after Messing Around with MIDI Settings.
I've got an older Turtle Beach Montego. Do these have a better MIDI
Interface? Any Ideas.

My AN1x will drive my Sound Cards sounds OK but won't recieve data form the
PC

I am using a similar setup, PC with SB AWE 64 Value and MIDI-Split-
Cable connected to the Joystick/MIDI-Port without any problems.
If he can´t request any sounds from the synth despite he set all
parameters on the synth and on AN1xedit right, there are several
hardware-error sources:

- the MIDI-cable is broken
- the soundcard-MIDI-port is broken
- the AN1x-MIDI-port is broken

So, exchangeing the cable might be the cheapest solution, if it still
doesn´t work, exchange the soundcard, if it still doesnt work, i
would recommend to check at his friends place if his AN1x MIDI-port
might be broken (which i actually doubt, this is my fifth Yamaha
product and i never had any problems with the MIDI-ports, despite all
rumours, their products are built like rocks, even when they look
plastic-ish).
