If you're not comfortable with the basic principals of substractive
synthesis (Pitch EG, Filter, VCF, VCA, and LFO's) then I'd suggest you
read through this fine introductory article:
http://www.intermusic.com/article.asp?ReviewId=2386&ArticleTable=Features&FeatureType=TUT&Channel=KBD
There are many such tutorials at Intermusic.
Our man Phil has posted a 'how to program synth strings' article which
you might enjoy too:

I just twiddle the vitual dials on screen to find out what effects they
have on sound....quickest way to find out i guess.
That's the tried and true method employed by many of us over the years:
push a button and turn a dial! You might want to reivew the Voice Set-
up Guide (PDF) in the Files section
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files/Documentation/ Fire up AN1xEdit and start entering the
values from the Set-up Guide by hand...it's kind of like 'paint by
numbers' but you'll see how parameters can interact with each other.
However, can someone please simply advise me step by step how use
genetex v.2 to greate a morph,or any other way?
Genetix is a patch randomizer and while the results are probably
unique, and might exceed expectations, I'd suggest you approach it as
an idea pad and not anticipate polished results.
I tried using free EG to change the sound or create new ones but did
not notice any change at all.I think the card sounds great ,has great
potential but very complex to use.YES im a amature to anolog synthisis
but i have to start somewhere.

From your description, I'm uncertain how you approached using the
FreeEG but it's usefulness is basically to alter parameters 'hands
free'. For example, play a sound and sweep the Filter Cutoff using a
MIDI CC routed to an on screen fader, or an Assign Knob on the AN1x
proper. You can record this action into one of the four tracks in the
FreeEG and it will occur on playback automatically. FreeEF tracks are
saved at the Voice level.

far around the screen. You may need to copy & paste them into your
